Eagle Valley Family Assistance Fund (EVFAF) is a
non-profit organization dedicated to assisting families and individuals who live
and work in Eagle County and who have temporary financial problems that cannot be met by
conventional financing, governmental or social service agencies. These
families or individuals must provide proof of both responsibility and an ability
to repay their loans in full within a reasonable time frame.
EVFAF provides loans without interest or fees
from a revolving loan fund. Loans are typically made to provide the most
basic human needs: housing, medical care,
transportation. EVFAF has made $600,000 in loans since 1995. Applicants must be referred to
EVFAF by recognized social service agencies or religious organizations.
Repayment schedules are tailored to fit clients’
particular cash flows. Clients must sign promissory notes;
loan repayment is closely monitored by EVFAF’s
all-volunteer staff.
Because of the many volunteer hours spent in
interviewing clients and monitoring loans, overhead is virtually non-existent.
Donations to enable service to a greater number of people are most appreciated
